 Basketball Signups for 2009
 Formal sign-up sessions for ABC's recreational basketball program have already been held, but sign-ups are still being accepted on a space available basis. Most teams are filled -- but there may be a few teams still needing a player to fill out a roster.
Send details through the Contact ABC page (name, gender, date of birth, and contact information) or call basketball commissioner Johnny Smotherman at 314-662-3124.
The sign-up and ID card sessions will be in the Rudy Room at ABC Ball Park (10050 Livingston Avenue, St. Ann, MO -- just north of St. Charles Rock Road and St. Gregory Lane - 1 1/2 miles east of Northwest Plaza).
Only recreational teams are allowed to play in ABC's youth league. Age levels for our basketball teams are:
- Boys - Ages 5 through 13
- Girls - Ages 5 through 13
NOTE: Players MUST be at least 5 years old prior to January 1, 2009 -- and not over 13 years old on January 1, 2009.
There is no cost to register as an individual player. Team registration cost is $500 ($275 for 5 to 7 year old "PeeWee" teams). Each player pays his/her share of the team fee only after being placed on a team.
The 2009 basketball season will start on Saturday, January 3 and continue through early March. Each team will play 10 games during the season.
Photo ID's are required for all basketball players and can be obtained at the sign-up sessions or on any special ID card dates (see above). Be sure to bring proof of age (birth certificate, old ID, etc.), $5.00 to cover the cost, and the player (preferably with a smiling face!). ID cards are valid for 3 years. ID's used for other ABC sport programs (if not expired) can be used for basketball. Let the sign-up staff know if you have an ID from another sport.
