For those who are not already on a team, we do all we can to place everyone on a team, but eventually teams fill up (even newly created ones) and therefore we cannot make an absolute guarantee of placement on a team.
Who can play?
Age levels for Youth League softball teams are 9 through 18. Younger players (5 to 8 year olds -- with birthdates from January 2001 through March 2005) are eligible to participate in ABC's Training League program.

See the
softball age chart for the specific age division assignment based on date of birth. Players MUST be at least 5 years old prior to April 1, 2010 and cannot be over 18 years old on January 1, 2010.
There are no residency requirements to play in our sports programs. ABC Ball Park is a not-for-profit youth sports organization and is collectively owned by the families whose children participate in its sports programs. If you can get here, you can play here!
What is the cost?
There is no initial cost to register as an individual player at ABC. Players pay their share of the team fee when placed on a team. Team registration fees are:
$400 - Training League teams (T-Ball / PAL Ball / GAL Ball) – 12 game season
$675 - Youth League teams (pre-high school age) – 14 game season
$700 - High School divisions (high school age) – 14 game season
Once placed on a team, additional costs may be incurred for team expenses – such as for uniforms and/or team equipment, when needed. While teams are encouraged to keep these expenses as low as possible, players & parents should be aware that these costs depend on the decisions made by the team as a whole.
Teams may attempt to offset these additional costs (and perhaps even the team fee) by obtaining sponsors, conducting fund raisers, etc. These activities, when conducted, are the sole responsibility of each team.
When are the games played?
The 2010 softball season will begin on Saturday, May 1 and continue into July. High school age teams begin playing games in late May.
Games are played 7 days a week – Monday through Friday evenings beginning at 6:00 pm, all day Saturday, and all day Sunday (beginning at 12:00 noon).
Training League teams typically play games on Friday nights, Saturday mornings, and some Sunday afternoons, but scheduling issues may cause some games to be played on other days of the week.
Youth league teams play a 14 game season. Training League teams (Tee Ball, PAL Ball, and Gal Ball) play 12 games.
When are practices?
Practice schedules are determined by each individual team.
Photo ID Card?
Photo ID's are required for all softball players. New players to ABC (or the NCTL) or those with expired ID's must come to one of the scheduled ID card sessions scheduled prior to the season.

Bring the child (for a "photo” ID), proof of age (birth certificate or expired ID card), and $8.00.
ID cards are valid for 2 years and can be used for all ABC sport programs. If you have a non-expired ID card from another sport, it can also be used for softball.
How can parents help?
Parental volunteer involvement is crucial to the success of our youth sports programs. Each team needs volunteers to help manage and coach, make phone calls, be a scorekeeper, etc. The ABC baseball commissioners will give guidance for what is required to manage or coach a youth team.
ABC Ball Park requires that background checks be performed on all volunteer managers and coaches. The cost of up to three (3) background checks per team is included in the team fee. The fee for additional checks is $10 each.
Don’t just sit in the stands. A group of kids needs parental volunteers to help them become a team. Without the managers and coaches, the kids don’t play. Come out and help guide your child and her teammates through their softball experience. Help teach the game, help teach sportsmanship!
